When opening a file with the GDAL storageManager or requesting version information of GDAL (Help- > About), an:

Error in delayed loading a dll may occur (errorcode: 0xC06D007E). might occur.

This can also result in an OS Structured Exception.

This error may be related to a missing Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update.
