Notes:

• Could change the registry parser to skip validation.
• Cori usage:
  • Add -DNOMPIMOD to include 'mpif.h'
  • Issues with segfaults on cori in the atmosphere core
  • Test core fails to perform halo exchanges on cori
• For testing infrastructure:
  • Will try to put together a list of requirements that can help unify the infrastructure.
• PIO Conversation:
  • Have been frustrated lately with building / supporting older versions
  • Will look into adding an option to allow the PIO2 interfaces
  • Might (in the future) look into creating an IO core as an alternative (but can also test multiple cores and parallel IO)
