Usage

A pail can contain the following liquids:

The capacity of a pail depends on the type of material the pail is made of.

Type Capacity (buckets)
Wooden Pail 4
Steel Pail (coming soon) 8

Milking

When milking animals using a pail, 1 bucket worth of milk is retrieved at a time. Partially filled pail can be used to milk animals as long as it can fit another bucket of milk of the same kind. Goat milk and regular milk cannot be combined together.

Milking animals using a pail (as well as a Large bowl) utilizes new milking mechanics with the following features:

  • Milking timer is reduced by 4 hours, which allows daily milking on a rough schedule (2 hours sooner and 2 hours later)
  • Ibex can be milked every 20 days
  • Milking Goats and Ibex produces Goat milk instead of regular milk

Milking features can be adjusted by changing the following config values.

Config Description
enableGoatMilkFromGoats Goats and ibex produce goat milk
enableIbexHavingMilk Ibex can be milked
ibexMilkingTimerMultiplier How often can be Ibex milked
milkingTimerReductionHours Milking timer reduction
enableDefaultMilkingInteractionOverride Utilize new features also when TFC buckets are used

Notes

  • New milking mechanics is always used when milking Ibex or when a non-TFC milking container is used.
  • New milking mechanics is event driven, which allows other addons to add more milkable animals.
  • More milking containers can be enabled by adding the item into ore dictionary as itemMilkingContainer. Wildcard should be used for partially filled containers.
  • Game statistics Milk Milked is only tracked when new milking mechanics are used.
