Usage

A stone bow drill is used for Quarrying and so it will only drill blocks that can be quarried. Also, make sure you have some Plug and Feather on your toolbar to use as wedges.

When a stone bow drill breaks down most of the time a bow is returned. Combine it with a new stone drill head and a stick to make a new stone bow drill. There is a chance that an unfinished bow is returned instead. This means the the bowstring has broken too and needs to be replaced as well.

If sufficient material is provided, stone drills will get automatically repaired, consuming a stone drill head and a stick from the hotbar. If the bowstring has broken as well, in addition, a string, sinew, or Bark Cordage will be consumed from the hotbar to replace it.

Metal drills have much longer durability and so they don't get automatically repaired when they break.

Notes

  • The drilling speed and the chance of the bowstring breaking can be configured
