Use Case Diagram

  • What other use cases should we include on the diagram?
    • Membership Cards
    • Public Transit
    • Insurance
    • Museum Pass (multi-use passes)
    • Healthcare
    • Shipping
    • Supply Chain
    • e-Commerce
    • Gaming
  • Survey use cases from other organizations and collect the different links to those use cases to ensure we do not start from scratch
    • Trust Over IP is working on a small set of canonical use cases, including a museum pass write up
    • Verifiable Credentials Working group has a list of use cases
  • Should proofing happen in the wallet or at the verifier?
    • Biometric precheck - proofing done at the verifier (paper)
    • ISO working on proofing done at the wallet
  • Multiple credentials in a single pass. Going to local gym, you need to present your driver's license, your gym membership, and COVID19 vaccination - credential aggregation
  • Supply chain where your product is made up of multiple dependencies, you need to trust all of the dependencies plus the product maker.
  • Policy language or request language that specified certain aggregations that are common
  • The idea of mixing a health care wallet with a general wallet might be a concern
  • Health care has their own data language
  • Each health care use case could end up with their own wallet

Digital Car Key Write Up

  • Reviewed the write up
  • The write-up needs to be specific about what the wallet does vs. what the overall system is doing that is using the wallet
  • Will need to be specific on the line between what the wallet supports and outside systems
  • Other use cases besides what is included in the write up:
    • Renting a vehicle
    • Lock a vehicle by authorities
    • Valet - short-term use of a vehicle that you want to limit (key that you give to a valet would be different than the key that you give to your spouse)
  • tigress is working on keys for cars and credential exchange mechanisms (IETF 114 had an in-depth presentation that talked about delegation and attenuation related to digital keys for hotels and cars)

Event Ticket Use Case

  • Reviewed the Event Ticket Use Case
  • Can we identify the delta from other use case documents? For example, W3C VC use cases has the event use case included
  • What are the use cases that are not well documented in the industry?
  • Pick a few canonical use cases to go deep on to flush out the requirements and use these as a test for the architecture.
  • How do we connect the work that is being done in this group to the larger community and contributors?
