Cmd (or PS / Bash / Terminal) from here #120
Comments
Have you tried typing cmd in the address bar of explorer? Go to a folder - replace the folder name with cmd - you get a command prompt at that folder |
I hadn’t tried that – that works.

The PowerToys crew needs to duplicate Classic Shell into PowerToys. One of the components of Classic Shell is Classic Explorer, which adds a toolbar similar to what Windows XP had, but which is much more configurable. I have a cmd here icon, a bash here icon, and a cmd here as administrator icon in every Explorer window. The cmd here as administrator uses Nirsoft's nircmd tool; Classic Explorer easily incorporates such things. |
Thanks, Craig. I’m missing the Unix shell option, but I do see PowerShell option.

To see the 'Open Linux Shell here' option you need to have the Windows Subsystem for Linux installed. |
Great tip – I’ll set that up on mine, too.

with the work for the launcher (#44) we'll have terminal related settings, this could be something we could roll in to that. Have the settings in general and then in a file explorer setting, we add this in to enable / disable |
Our wonderful friends over at terminal beat us!!! microsoft/terminal#1060 Will be in their v1.1 release. |
* first pass for windows services core ext * added Windows Registry Plugin * updated PR to reflect wt profiles, registry, and services extensions and incorporating feedback * fixing dead code
Definitely a useful tool. Some things have to be done from the command-line & being able to right-click and choose "Cmd (or PS or Bash) from here" to drop-in and execute some code is an awesome feature that I miss from the past.
