Create semantic syntax for my latex source files.

Different files

  • dakling.sty: contains the macros. Can be seen as a system-wide configuration valid for all Latex projects. Put this into your LaTeX path (e.g. /usr/share/texmf/...)
  • definLocalExample.tex: contains project-specific settings, should be present in every LaTeX project directory. Alternatively, you can just put the stuff in there into the header.
  • example.tex: not really needed, just shows some examples to simplify understanding what the macros do

step by step

  • git clone https://www.github.com/dakling/latex_macros
  • copy the file definLocalExample.tex to your project directory (maybe rename it to definLocal.tex) or directly into the header of the main document
  • put dakling.sty into the LaTeX path
  • put \usepackage{dakling} into your main LaTeX source document

design principles

  • frequently used commands have short names to decrease typing effort and keep the latex source short
  • less frequently used commands have more expressive names
  • commands with short names have to be documented using comments in dakling.sty
