I’d like to suggest adding a feature that would allow users to assign multiple keys to a single button, where the action is triggered only when all of the assigned keys are pressed simultaneously.
For example:
A button (e.g., L1) could be mapped to trigger when A + B + C are all pressed together.
If even one of the keys is not pressed, the action would not be triggered.
This functionality is available in other emulators like PPSSPP, and it would greatly improve customization for players using complex key mappings or specific input setups. It allows for more advanced control schemes and could open up more possibilities for users who need specific multi-key combos for actions.
Thank you for your hard work on PCSX2!
Reason
Customization for Specific Setups: It would allow for better mapping of keys for users with unique controllers, alternate input devices, or complex control preferences.
Increased Flexibility: It provides more freedom to set up key mappings that fit personal playstyles or game requirements.
Improved Gameplay and Control: It allows players to use multiple functions with fewer keys, reducing the clutter of complex control schemes and improving the overall gaming experience.
More Intuitive Control: Players can map different functions to the same set of keys but only activate them when needed, making the controls more flexible and easier to remember.
Better Use of Limited Inputs: On devices with limited buttons (such as gamepads or specific control setups), this feature makes it easier to access extra actions without requiring additional buttons or combinations that might be hard to execute.
Customization for Unique Setups: It allows for personalized configurations that suit various controllers, input devices, or user preferences, which would appeal to players looking for a unique experience.
Examples
Pressing W, A, S, D would make the character move forward, left, backward, or right, as usual.
However, pressing W, A, S, D plus N would trigger the right analog stick controls (e.g., camera movement), without affecting the character's movement.
