Design
Many years in the future, the human race has finally figured out how to settle colonies in the space. Nevertheless, a mysterious virus attacks the primary computer operating the first mankind space station, causing all their automated machines and other humans to turn against them. The infected computer ends up attacking the Earth. Humans last hope remains in sending someone in the helm of an advanced fighting ship that is immune to getting this virus.
However, we find also a alternative narrative, and we think this is cool and try to explain here:
“It is the not too distant future. Humanity has created a utopian world based on industrialism and expansion... but it would not last. Politics and the need for power have corrupted the world's leaders, and invaders from other worlds have taken the opportunity to destroy the world. The once great human cities have been destroyed and only a few patches of human existence remain. Some freedom fighters still exist, and now they fly their ships into enemy territory to defeat the aliens and save the world.” (Sub Sane, 2005)

Last Resort has five divided levels. Each level is loaded immediately with action. The player has to break through tons of enemis, including mini-bosses and obstacles, in order to reach the final boss of each level. As well as the enemies, the player has to move properly around the enviroment in order to survive.
The High Orbital Unit helps the main character fight the enemies along the whole game, this orbital unit has its own behavior or can be static depending the player's decision. The ship can be upgraded taking the pick-up items that some enemies drop, the upgrade will depend on which pick-up the player has taken.
Each player has one joystick and two buttons to play. The joystick allows the player to move. Pressing the button "A" allows the player to shoot and it the button is hold the ball will get charged to release it's power. Finally, the button "B" manages the player to attach or dettach the ball from the ship.
