Keyboard shortcut for text highlight

I know this may need to be a CKEditor feature, but I want to start here to see if it would be helpful for there to be a keyboard shortcut for text highlight. For example, in Notion the keyboard shortcut applies the last color selected using ctrl/cmd+shift+h.

I want this too! And Making Bullet Lists by Ctrl + Shift + 5 or any other shortcuts.

To add to this. Id rather it to be text highlight instead of last color. So it works both in light and dark themes. Picky... i known

Just came to post something similar myself. I can't read my yellow highlights on my dark theme. Would love to be able to alter highlight colors depending on the theme.

I posted a script in #2954 that adds shortcuts for font color and heading style.
However I couldn't figure out how to get text highlighting to work, only text color. Hopefully this might be the beginning of a solution though.
