Reasons not to use SCCM PXE
PXE has a unique set of challenges and difficulties. But SCCM PXE takes this to a whole different level.
Below are a number of reasons why you shouldn't use SCCM PXE.

I don't hate PXE. I hate SCCMs implementation of it. Which is basically the same one they've used since SCCM 2003

One of the many reasons why I hate PXE. Just reboots while boot USB will let you get the logs

I completely agree, I love PXE booting dont get me wrong.. I just hate SCCM's PXE booting. It shoddy and shite for no reason.

- It's slower than booting off an ISO/drive
- Good luck having more than 1 in the environment without crazy work arounds
- If you have an error in the TS (no TS advertised for example), it's difficult to impossible to keep it from rebooting so you can look at SMSTS.log and see why
- Did I mention it's slow?
- There is a security risk with it, as using a USB drive is a form of two factor
- Doesn't play well with UEFI
- Can't do both legacy and UEFI
- Can't do both x86 and x64 boot wims (thank you Microsoft for making Surface require x64 boot media)
- Doesn't cross network boundaries without lots of effort on the part of the networking group (apparently checking a box is hard)
- Doesn't work at all across some types of network segments
- When a tech pisses you off, you can invalidate his USB drive. Can't do that with PXE.
- You can setup computers to boot off USB for boot order to have one less button to hit. If you do that with PXE, you hate your end users.

one reason why I hate PXE boot, you can't stop it from rebooting if it can't find a TS

Will opening this crash my PC because you have about a billion reasons to hate it?

I cannot look at the logs
F8 doesn't suspend the reboot It just reboots
