Addressing substantive Errata

Change to Board and Process documentation

  • Discussion about how to address substantive Errata.
  • Mike added an addition column between Errata and Done, and renamed the Errata column (was “Errata for CFC”).
  • Process document updated (see diff).
  • Flagged items on Project Board that impinge on WCAG content in TR space.

Errata page and Editors Draft are now updated on a monthly basis. (Understanding documents have been republished monthly for a while now.)

Review ‘For discussion’ items

Update user-inactivity.html #4122 Adds css "note" class to the paragraph following the definition. Puts term in correct alphabetical order, moving ahead ‘user interface’. This will be sent (again) to WG for approval. There was debate in a previous call if this is Class 2 or Class 3 change.

Update from target size min #2858 Aligns the older AAA target-size with the newer AA version, for the “inline exception”. This will be sent (again) to WG for approval. This is a Class 3 change, and was debated on a previous AG call.

Review ‘Sent for WG approval’ items

Similar to the above, Amend definition of motion animation to not exclude blurring #4040, Sent to WG, changes an example in a definition. Per w3c process, examples are non-normative.

PDFA PDF Techniques

Ken has done some initial work on adding subsections to the Techniques index for the PDF Association techniques and failures, and Kevin suggested Ken gather thoughts/feedback from the backlog group on a couple of particular points.

These sort of index pages are not part of the routine build process, but can be generated any time as needed. The PDFA site is in beta to the extent that their techniques may be combined, renamed, or renumbered.

Adding PDFA techniques to “related resources” on individual Understanding documents manually is easy enough.

We need to determine how if it’s possible to incorporate PDFA into Understanding documents automatically or not.

Updated Understanding Reflow

We want to get updated guidance on reflow in front of AG. Scott is working with Patrick. Still have a bottle neck with examples. Mike asks to publish with what we have now. Draft still has a number of ‘placeholder’ images. Francis offers to do another review. Discussed some specific phrases like “lines of text”. Plan is have reviews as per our usual routine. People put in Suggestions, and we will review, hopefully on our next call.
