no "Dry Run" button

I am running CiviCRM 4.7.11 (on Drupal 7.43), with MailChimp sync extension version 1.8.7

According to the "README" documentation, on the manual sync screen there should be a "Dry-Run" tickbox, but I have never seen one.

It would be a really helpful feature though. Any suggestions why it's not there, or what I can do?

The master brach points to recent work done by @artfulrobot, #216. The extension needs a new release with this code.
The version you have is not the one in the master.

So do you suggest I do something now? how would I change my version to be the one in the master? Or better to wait until the new version is released with this code?

We are in the process of merging another PR which support multiple accounts. Then we will release a new version, better wait for it.
