Welcome to the Healthcare-Portal wiki! This portal features a very simple healthcare portal design.
A database needs to be maintained by the medical unit staff whenever a patient visits the doctor or the pharmacy to keep track of drug stock, the patient history and to search drugs in the inventory. The current system completely relies on a pen and paper database for all these tasks.
#Intended User groups The website is designed in such a way that all the people associated to the medical unit will benefit one way or the other. The major user groups include –
- Patients, who will directly benefit from the website as they won’t have to carry a prescription or hospital log book with them. Also, they can view their own history (of ailments) and the medicinal course followed.
- Doctors, whose job will be simplified as they won’t need to write down a prescription on paper anymore and also they won’t have to contact the pharmacy staff to search a certain medicine, nor will they need the patient to carry his/her prescription on subsequent visits.
- Staff Members (pharmacist, nurses etc.), who will be able to search for medicines with ease. They will also be able to easily maintain a patient’s details.
People who can contribute to the website –
- Software engineers, who can understand the codes written and devise better and efficient methods for particular tasks.
- Web developers, who can be of use in client-side web development as well as beck-end development. They can contribute towards designing and making the interface simple and more user friendly.
- SQL database developers, who can contribute towards back- end database development.
- Anyone with innovative ideas can suggest interactive features for the website.
#Features Our site offers the following features –
- Medicine search – The pharmacy can search the medicine inventory with ease. The doctor can view the medicine database and write the prescription accordingly.
- Patient history – The patient after logging in with his details can view his history. The doctor after logging in can view any patient’s history by entering the patient id (unique to each patient).
- Computerized prescription – The doctor writes a computerized prescription along with patient details which automatically goes to the pharmacy on submitting.
- Update medicine inventory – The pharmacy can update the medicine inventory with ease.
