Currently, we cannot produce the final snow analysis within JEDI, as we can't apply post-processing / QC checks to the analyzed fields. Instead, we are going to add the increment generated by JEDI to the restart within global_cycle, using a similar approach as is used for the soil temperature increments.
The main steps are:
Read in JEDI snow depth increment file (currently on native model grid -> no re-gridding required for now).
Add increment to the forecast snow depth.
Limit snow depth analysis to be non-negative.
Adjust SWE to match the new snow depth (using snow density from the forecast file)
Apply limits to snow amount over glaciers?
