Installation
As Cosmos is a Sponge plugin, you will have to install a Minecraft server running on Sponge Vanilla or Sponge Forge, depending on your needs.
I highly recommend you to check you the Sponge's documentation for further information.
Go to the Sponge's downloads page and choose between Vanilla and Forge.
With Sponge Forge, you also have to download the Forge installer on compatible version (click on the red button "Forge XXXX")
Once you've downloaded Sponge Vanilla, create a directory anywhere you want and put the jar file inside.
Jump inside this new directory and double-click on the jar file. You should see some new files generating.
Once you've downloaded Sponge Forge and the Forge installer, create a directory anywhere you want and put both jar files inside.
Jump inside this new directory and double-click on the Forge installer.
Select "Install server" option and then target the path of your freshly created directory.
Click "OK" and it will automatically downloads Forge and Minecraft servers.
After the jar files are fully downloaded, double-click on the Forge server. You should see some new files generating.
Put the Sponge server jar file on the mods directory which has been generated.
But the Minecraft server is not running yet. Indeed, you have to agree to EULA (Minecraft end user license agreement (EULA)).
In doing so, open the eula.txt file and replace eula=false
to eula=true
. Save the file.
Here we are, Cosmos. Download the plugin right here.
Be careful to select compatible version with your Sponge server.
File name pattern : cosmos-<cosmos-version>-<sponge-version>.jar
.
Put Cosmos jar file into the mods directory which has been generated earlier.
Please refer to the Sponge documentation for this part
Once you have created a launch script corresponding to your operating system, double-click on it to run your Minecraft server.
After few seconds, you'll be able to connect on it.
In Minecraft, type localhost in server address field if you are running your server locally.
You can now freely use the Cosmos plugin to manage worlds and use its per-world features.
