Release of Narrowband F-Engines as qualified during the CBF November 2022 Functional Release.

These recompiled F-Engines improve the performance and behaviour of the narrowband correlator modes, and have specifically been scientifically verified to address the previously reported spectral artefact issue.

It should be noted that ONLY the Narrowband F-Engines (for both 107 MHz and 53.5 MHz) are changed in this release. All other builds (F- and X-Engines) remain unchanged from the previous release.

Changes since the last release:

F-Engines:

  • Narrowband F-Engines (107 MHz & 54 MHz) have been recompiled with additional snapshot debug logic in the corner turner. This debug logic was added to aid in re-solving the spectral artefact issue. These recompiled versions have undergone CBF qualification and sky/science testing and do not exhibit the spectral artefacts.

Known issues: (Unchanged from the previous release)

  • The Wideband 32k F-Engine contains no snapshots as these were removed as part of efforts to resolve the 4-channel dip bug. A new build, that is bug free, with snapshots in cannot be compiled.
  • The 32k F-Engine sometimes produces erroneous outputs and baselines processing affected antennas will fail the bit-perfect test
