Overview

FusionLink enables you to access data all your FusionInvest data directly into Excel. Both Real-Time streaming and On-Demand data is available.

How it works

A Toolkit is added to your client terminal which hooks into the core FusionInvest calculation engine. Whenever data is calculated by your client, FusionLink is notified and then streams the requested numbers out to listening Excel workbooks.

This means that data from anywhere in your FusionInvest client can be requested and streamed out to Excel without having to have the data displayed within the client. FusionLink will ensure that all data subscribed to is calculated and kept up-to-date as defined by your preferences.

Example

FusionLink can be used to extend your FusionInvest client into Excel for building custom dashboard or providing additional views into your portfolio that can be placed anywhere on your desktop.

The following video shows Excel updating in real-time in line with FusionInvest. Please note that video shows the same numbers displayed in FusionInvest however this is for demonstration purposes only. The data is being streamed out from the core engine and not the grid on display.

Real-time data

Any data that is displayed in a portfolio hierarchical view can be subscribed to from Excel. Every portfolio column you have access to is available to subscribe to from Excel. Even custom User and Toolkit columns are available.

You can access data at either the portfolio or position level.

On-demand data

Table data can be requested and brought straight into a table array in Excel. You can request a list of positions in a portfolio or get historical market data (just like BDH).

Usage

You have access to the full power of Excel so anything you can do in Excel is available. You can have multiple Excel's all requesting and streaming data. You could completely cover your desktop with Excel windows showing live ticking data from FusionInvest.

Restrictions

The communication between Excel and FusionInvest / FusionCapital only works on the same machine due to data licensing restrictions.

If you are running FusionInvest / FusionCapital via Citrix / RemoteApp, Excel must be running on the same server.
