interrupting readline() places R runtime into odd / frozen state #535

Interrupting the readline() prompt (via Ctrl + C) also puts the runtime into a weird state; not sure if that's an ark bug or not. But after that, if I try to run readline() again, the Console is frozen.

Assigning to @lionel- as I believe he has been spending time investigating the relationship between the Console UI and the R runtime state.

I tested and this one is still not fixed even with the fix for #623 installed (I'm not saying it was supposed to fix this, but it didn't just magically fix it either).
