Welcome to the cv-tracer wiki!

Here you will find documentation for the cv-tracer package. This library is developed specifically to tracking and analyzing the dynamics of individual fish swimming in groups.

Our species of interest is the Astyanax mexicanus (a tetra fish that lives in fresh water near several locations along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico), but this software could be modified in a straightforward way to analyze the behavior of many other kinds of organisms.

The procedures for tracking are based on tracktor, a Python and OpenCV-based object tracking software (github.com/vivekhsridhar/tracktor). An article on the software is freely accessible via biorxiv (biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/412262v1 and published by the British Ecological Society (doi.org/10.1111/2041-210X.13166).
