Is poetry update directory recursive?

I am working on a project and managing the dependencies via poetry. It's not strictly a package-able project, so potentially poetry is not the right solution. However, poetry it is convenient to use the same tool for package projects as well as workspace projects. In my project I have some git submodules that are also developed with poetry, meaning that those submodule folders also have poetry lock files and other project files.

When I run poetry update in my parent folder it also updates some of the dependencies in my poetry.lock file in my submodule. Is this the intended / documented behavior?

Sorry, bad Q. I thought i double checked the folder I was running poetry update in, but the folder name was similar to the parent folder and I was in the wrong directory. Thanks! 🦆
