Can't switch back to promoted mode once moved from promoted mode to grid mode

Steps to reproduce

1. Be in a call started in grid mode
2. Click on a participant to switch to promoted mode
3. Select "grid mode" from the "..." menu to switch to grid mode again
4. Click again on a participant you want to follow

Expected behaviour

Participant should be followed again, as it was done the first time

Actual behaviour

Nothing happens
