The following changes are made in this PR:

• Bump the version of this library to v1.2.0.
• Downgraded jackson from 2.18.0 to 2.17.2 to address a JPMS configuration issue in jackson-databind.
• Upgraded junit from 5.9.0 to 5.11.0. Upgraded log4j2 from 2.23.1 to 2.24.1.
• Implemented the BOM-based dependency management for jackson and log4j2. This is a cleaner approach to managing related versions for the multiple modules in this library.
• Upgraded the surefire plugin to 3.5.0.
• Cleaned up dependencies and maven site descriptor configurations. This removes a warning about support for the older site descriptor version being removed soon.
