This is a document from the Synapse repo that has a lot more to do with the design of Matrix than with Synapse. I'd like to replace the Synapse version with more implementation information (as opposed to different ways to design an API). @ara4n suggested moving it to the attic (https://matrix.to/#/!XaqDhxuTIlvldquJaV:matrix.org/$6gTgMkQIVqQz-o79noMj21BaF0q2IRZCfqEmpM0kF1U?via=matrix.org&via=vector.modular.im&via=envs.net).
This was essentially an MSC before the MSC process existed.
Not sure if this needs a changelog?
