The serial is internal a hex-number. It has to end with two zeros (00).
Default is 12345600, hex: bc6100
You should use an own serial to authenticate your dongle against the motor(s).
For example: 66554368, hex its: 3f78a00
It seems that the motors are very picky with the serial, not everyone is accepted. The practical way to get a (hiopefully) working serial number is to sniff first a normal remote controller and then modify it slightly.
