Linux CUPS printer setup University of Manchester

Add a new printer at http://localhost:631/admin (login username is your local username and root password)
The page for the nearest printer is here, clicking the "Mac/Linux" links shows the details to add it on the admin page :

LPR Server Address e.g. lprint3.its.manchester.ac.uk, use with the Internet Printing Protocol so hostname for the printer is e.g.
ipp://lprint3.its.manchester.ac.uk - LPR Queue Name (not needed, but may contain location description to save the printer with)
- Printer Model - use this to select the printer make and model to automatically select a PPD
