pdns is an open source DNS server that allows programmatic control over DNS records. It can be used to implement "Dynamic" DNS for kubernetes clusters deployed on bare-metal or on-prem. Having pdns integration would make external-dns useful for non-cloud Kubernetes deployments as well.
