Self merging this to retain momentum. This is a 100% CI PR that I find required for testing a PR like #1418, so I think it's reasonable. |

Having an upgrade test helps us catch issues with the Helm chart where a change may not allow for a smooth upgrade from the previous chart to the new chart.
I want this to test #1418 for example.
