In general there are many engineering ideas that can't be implemented and some are lost in the heap. If this line brings you any joy you might like something in the master branch of this fork. I looked for the entire output but could not find it. If it was possible to run headless or in termux X that would be great
That was all that was required. The demos came with the game pack and this disabled the internal time synchronization and ran it really old school. As fast as can! ;-)
Unfortunately too much ended up in the master branch as the uncommitted ideas accumulated
In the
master
branch I'm most emotionally attached to this concept which was more important to me than the gameplay engineering. How well can my machine render this engineI'm also traditional in the sense of using the terminal if at all possible. You might think that a window might be fun but it's almost always just a time black hole time sink. Just drain all time to draw and program a useless window
Exactly the same thing is described in mirror#26 the equivalent command was unlike Carmack's renderer but in spirit exactly the same and the exact inspiration to the author
