This can be easily simulated for pet, by simulating a contrast-variation which gets the same signal as the breathing pattern and interpolates between two different attenuation values for the segmented lung tissue.

Maybe not make it a dynamic, but a boolean option during the simulation.
Because it has the exact same curve as the respiratory signal the binning will have the same intersection with every other dynamic state as the respiration, so just adding respiration and switching the attenuation map motion simulation on simultaneously could improve speed.
