Type

Error at runtime

Tools used

RVX Manager

Application

youtube 19.44.39

Bug description

In your latest stable patch 5.2.2, microg(gmscore)'s clouding message do not work. It shows that 0 app connected. I think this happened because of removing unnecessary constants and disable unused services. I hope you will fix this problem. In addition for shorts, custom short icon(youtube) and hide double tap animation(ex: thumbs up) do not work.

Same problem for rvx youtube. Apps patched with manager former than 5.2.2 can register clouding message successfully.

I'm having the exact same issue sadly. I tried all troubleshooting I could think of, but nothing will allow me to add RVX as a registered app for cloud messaging in microG.

Cloud messaging register fixed in v5.3.1-dev.3 but even patched youtube was registered successfully, no notification I have received in 3 days test. Not solved when update to v5.3.1-dev.4

I was able to get this to work using the pre release version mentioned here. I just had to go into microG and turn off Cloud Messaging and Google device registration and then turn them back on. Somehow in the process I managed to break regular ReVanced's playback and notifications, but RVX is fully functional now at least.

Reflected in revanced-patches-5.3.1

If RVX is still not added to Cloud messaging or you are not seeing notifications in RVX, follow these steps:

  1. Uninstall GmsCore and RVX
  2. Install GmsCore
  3. Re-patch with latest sources
  4. Install patched RVX

I reinstalled the rvx youtube and then it solved successfully. But I just wonder why. If I installed two rvx youtube with different package names and both of them registered cloud messaging successfully, whether only one of them can receive notification?

@kljjh Both of them, since it was two different apps. I know because I do that.
