I marked off the two above criteria because I don't believe this requires a README.md update and I don't think reliable unit tests will be easy to implement since
Statsd.parser()
doesn't provide negative feedback upon a parser error anymore. I'm open to other ways to solve this though!resolves #9422
This fixes an issue where statsd stats would stop getting processed because malformed stats would cause the parser to return. Malformed stats should be logged but they shouldn't cause parsing to stop.
