Kurohyou 2 - Chase segments are broken #19541
Comments
Hmm.. may be downclocking the emulated CPU makes the NPC's A.I response slower, thus can easily win. |
It's an annoying issue to re-create since there are only a small handful of times I'm being chased. So I honestly couldn't tell you, I'm well past it. If I see another chase I'll try that out. |
Someone reported this issue, didn't find it due to a spelling error in name when I searched. It did get fixed (allegedly) 2 years ago. Edit: After looking at the issue more, I think you'd be interested in it @anr2me it seems that they didn't fix anything, tested the previous game in the series by mistake. But the issue has a save and a savestate, |
Unfortunately, i don't have the game, so i can't tell whether it really got fixed or not 2 years ago. |
I can tell you it was not. All the testing was on Windows, the test claiming it was fixed used the wrong game to test. |
The cheat code at #5703 (comment) that said to be able fix it contains the same title id with your game (NPJH-50562) |
Yeah, I saw the cheat code but that's a bandaid. |
First someone need find Chase segments are broken/softlock in major |

NPJH50562 - Kurohyou 2
What area of the game / PPSSPP
In some of the main story and sub stories you're being chased and you cannot naturally win. The people chasing you are far too fast or the player is too slow. Not sure if it's related but when you're chasing someone I've noticed it's entirely too easy to basically jog alongside them or get ahead even. The way I've gotten around this is by changing emulated PSP's CPU clock to about 30-40 and that lets me get away. I set it back to normal after (requires a hard reset and loading a legit save)
What should happen
Chases should be doable without weird workarounds, confirmed being chased is doable on an actual PSP. Not so sure about chasing others, I assume since it's easy no one's complained.
