Mixing a VCV Rack patch to stereo output is a common task. You can use monolithic rack modules that mimic real-world mixing consoles, but they don't take advantage of the power or flexibility inherent in a modular environment. And other modular mixers make it complicated to route multiple sounds to common send effects.
The Modular Bus Mixers from Glue the Giant are designed for flexible effect sends, mix groups, and audio bus routing similar to what can be found in modern DAWs. They also provide features like fade automation, pop filters, mixer and effect auditions (solo), polyphonic stereo spread, and latency compensation.
3. Send Effects: Example and Tutorial
- Start small and simple (your lightweight mixer grows as your patch grows)
- The placement of modules can be attractive and functional (optionally place mixer strips or mix groups near audio sources)
- They inspire creative audio routing (just like modular synths inspire creative synthesis)
- Specialty mixer strips for different sound sources, like a mixer with polyphonic stereo spread
- Enhance live performances and demonstrations
- Easily audition (solo) individual mixers, mixer groups, and effect sends by long pressing the on buttons
- Features like pop filters, fade automation, input preamps, and latency compensation
- Modular mixers are more fun!
