Can't Bind Command+Period

I'd like to enable the macOS Terminal-style Command+Period to map to Control+c.

Configs I've tried:

keybind = cmd+.=text:\x03
keybind = cmd+period=text:\x03

Neither seem to work, but all other key bindings I've tried work as expected. I've tried binding other things like toggle_fullscreen to the same key sequence without luck as well.
