Kibana version:
main

Describe the bug:
I created a stacked bar with a breakdown dimension that creates a lot of items in the tooltip (for example a date histogram)
If I hover on the chart, the bars change position.

I created the exact same chart in Viz editor and this doesn't happen.

Lens-Elastic-12-January-2022

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Use the flights dataset
  2. Create a stacked bar with date histogram on the breakdown
  3. Hover over the chart

Expected behavior:
Chart should be stable on hovering

I've investigated around this issue and seems like it's coming from Elastic charts. I'll continue in their repo in the issue linked above! It cannot be reproduced for visualize because their tooltip is different (screenshot below).

@mbondyra if you change the tooltip to use the elastic-charts one, can you reproduce it for Visualize?

I am asking that because I remember I had tested it in visualize with the EC tooltip and I couldn't replicate it. Not 100% sure though

@stratoula, good one! I cannot, but that's because the scroll is always visible for visualize so it doesn't appear and disappear. Maybe that's the way to go with Lens too, always show the scrollbar? I'm torn. Nevertheless, I think we should fix the initial bug too :)

This should be fixed once elastic/elastic-charts#1782 lands
