It would be really nice if the kibana distribution would contain a link to the docu (or even contain the docu itself).

I took me a while to find the kibana online docu.

It would be also nice if the kibana page or the "try it now page" would have a link to the docu.

Searching for "kibana doc" or "kibana documentation" does not find the documentation either

👍

At least add it to the README. It took me way to long to stumble across that page.

Here is a short version of my Quest:

I start at
http://www.elasticsearch.org/
no mention of Kibana, so I hope for the best on "Overview"
http://www.elasticsearch.org/overview/
A bit hidden Kibana is mentioned, I click on the name and go to:
http://www.elasticsearch.org/overview/kibana
Ok, where is the documentation? I scroll all the way down, ah a download link, I hope some documentation download link exists:
http://www.elasticsearch.org/overview/kibana/installation/
Good explanation of how to install it, but how do I use it? So I click on "still have questions? See kibana support" and I go to:
http://www.elasticsearch.org/overview/kibana/support/
Hmm... lots of support options from the support team, but no online documentation...
http://www.elasticsearch.com/support/

No link at all to:
http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/en/kibana/current/

Also, the documentation is insufficient. I would like to see every option explained with at least a sentence. Right now there are many items in the json that have no description at all.

(+1) on the insufficient documentation on all options/features. I believe the most handicap is the json input, missing examples of what can be implemented and mostly missing syntax.

Kibana 4 docs have been online since Kibana 4 GA and we are working on enhancing them even further (e.g. the Visualize section), so be on the lookout for an updated version soon!

Since we already do have a link to these docs in the current version of the README, I'm tagging this as an enhancement to add a link to the Kibana docs somewhere in the Kibana UI, making it even easier to locate.

We should wait until we add the getting started tutorial before we do that: #3484

I'm going to close this out. There's room for improvement! but there have been changes added now and I'd like to filter to more specific issues. The SEO for Kibana these days is much better too :).

Here's a few links:
