Hello, would it be possible to add support for the Tint remote control? This is a Zigbee remote control made by Müller-Licht. I was able to add the remote to deCONZ by pressing the reset button in the battery compartment and starting a sensor search.

Any news here?

Trying to connect my Tint remote with deconz.

But the sesor search in not finding my remote.

How did you connect it?

Press the reset button in the battery compartment and start a sensor search. It won't be visible in Phoscon because support for this remote has not been added yet.

+1 on the request list for Müller tint support of the remote. Thank you very much!

Just bought a GU10 and remote so hoping for support in the future.

I noticed Also are selling these off cheap now (€14 for the GU10 RGB + remote, €5 for the GU10 white and €7 for GU10 RGB). That's all they had.

So is the remote usuable as it is? Does it publish anything to the API?

@Philje123
Short form: YES

If you are starting a sensor search from the api, you will get the address and the id of your remote control.

But it does NOT appear in Phoscon app.

@Philje123

Thank you.

That will be fine as I mainly use home assistant to control my lights so as long as it the message gets through to there i can set it up to do what i want.

Any update on this?

I've tried to use the remote in it's current form but I don't get anything showing in Hass.io when I listen to "deconz_event". Do the remote buttons not get pushed through this way?

somehow i think about abandoning raspbee now and moving over to a direct zigbee binding in openhab2

this missing device support is kind of annoying.

sadly it's not even open source.

Is there anything to be done by people having this remote to ease the integration? I am willing to test and give information needed. Just give a heads up.

I managed to connect the tint remote with the system and it was possible for me to pair it with the lightbulbs and using the remote control, the groups in Phoscon app and the Hue Essentials app on android at the same time. But after a while the remote control does not react anymore and I have to pair it again with the bulbs. The new pairing leads to conflicts in the Phoscon app and I have to assign all light devices in the groups once again.
A similar problem when I restart the Raspberry Pi with RaspBee module. After reboot not only the remote control but also the groups in Phoscon app don´t work and everything has to be set up once again.
Does anybody have the same problems and maybe a solution for it?

@Manlycookiebear

I also would be grateful, if this device could be added to Phoscon.

Hello,
This solution works only for some minutes after you Have connected remote with the bulb. Then you Have to reconnect it again.
So it would be very nice, if the remote will be supported by deconz directly.

I'd like a solution for a direct pairing in the phoscon app also. Thanks in advance.

@foscoj Sorry for the delay, I had to double check. While I press the reset button the red light is blinking rapidly. As soon as I let go it will blink one more time, just a little slower, then it will stay red for another two seconds and then the red light shuts off for good.
In deconz I can see the device showing up immediately - the indicator bubble in the top left corner is flashing green rapidly for a couple seconds. When I press a button on the remote it flashes blue (which means data transfer is happening).

However after three minutes phoscon just says "connection failed". Do I need to press some other buttons?

Interesting enough.. when I try deleting the node from deconz it keeps on showing up again after a few seconds even though I removed the batteries from the remote. Do you think my deconz is messed up? Maybe I should try resetting my deconz setup.

Pairing seems to be successful then, phoscon should report some name within switches, configuration is not supported by phoscon.

That's why I use hue essentials afterwards

@David-Development

@foscoj I tried resetting deconz three times yesterday (delete database, create new network etc) however phoscon still won't pick it up. And I can't see the device in the hue essentials app either. I bought two IKEA switches yesterday and they both were recognized immediately..
What version of deconz are you guys on? Is there a version of the phoscon app? I couldn't find a version info for the pwa.

In Hue essentials you should see some Z something device, can't look it up right now. Phoscon as well, but configuration is only possible in hue essentials. Sorry I can't help further, with new batteries it worked on all three for me...
Deconz version should be current, phoscon is bundled with it

The apparently not so random groups are picked by the remote. Nothing the API plugin can do. I think the remote should pick other groups, after a factory reset.

@ebaauw I did a factory reset of the second remote, removed it from DeCONZ and paired it again. Unfortunately the second remote always picks the same groups (16388,16389,16390) as the first remote. You have already said that the groups are picked by the remote but can we change this somehow afterwards? Maybe through some direct device binding or something?

@foscoj and @Thomas-Vos: I can reproduce the missing remote screenshot in the setup screen of Hue Essentials. The remote shows in the list, but the setup screen only shows a buttenevent input field right after pairing. As soon as you have pressed a few buttons on the remote, especially the color wheel, it's displayed correctly. I suspect that Hue Essentials expects the device['state']['angle'] attribute to be set, which is set the very first time the color wheel is touched after pairing.

Maybe through some direct device binding or something?

That would be a neat trick, as the remote only has one endpoint.

Hello everybody,

my name is Jerome, I'm new into the Deconz world and I'm trying to setup my living room's lights and remotes.

Actually I did connect my devices (4 GUI10 white spots cold/warm and a RGBW bulb).

I had previously an Ikea set and it was cool to see that the remote (5 buttons one) is natively compatible.

So actually I can switch on and off my group of lights with my Ikea remote (How to control only one of the light if the remote is added into the group, is it possible, or should I create 2 different groups, one with the light that I want to turn off, and the other one with others lights?).

But, my problem is not really there, as I'll have to do some testing to understand all the way that I can use with Deconz.

Here I would like to get your help for some questions :

  • how to connect my remote, the MLI Tint that you mentioned? I saw that @ebaauw worked a lot on this, and I would like to thank him for his time and effort for us! As I'm a beginner, I don't really understand what should I do to control my lights with my RGB remote, like @David-Development said, it would be useful for others (perhaps) to have a step-by-step guide to how to connect the remote and use it into your Phoscon/Deconz setup :-)
  • an other question, more basic I guess, is "What is the difference between Deconz and Phoscon? Are they viewing the same project? Or should I choose to use one or the other but not both in the same time?

Many thanks to all of you, and sorry for those basics questions that seem to be an obviousness for you..

By the way, as I'm here, I'm interested if you get some good documentations or guide about Deconz/Phoscon, as I'm, I repeat, a beginner :-)

Hello,

I finally found that there's a file shared here (huesensor.js), thanks to @ebaauw :-)

Now, I would like to understand what should I do with that file...

I'm running home assistant on a RPi4, Deconz add-on installed.

Thank you for your help in advance

@djgje My problem was that I was running an old version of the Deconz / ConBee2 Firmware that didn't support the Tint remote. I thought I was up to date but I wasn't as there are some updating issues if you run deconz in a docker container (like I did). So in order to get this remote up and running in Deconz, follow these steps:

  • Make sure your Deconz / ConBee2 is up to date (if you use docker - make sure to read the update instructions here)
  • Make sure the remote is not listed inside deconz yet (delete node if it exists)
  • Open phoscon pwa and start the search for new switches
  • Press the reset button in the Remotes battery compartment of the Tint remote
  • Wait for a few seconds..

And that should be it!

Hello @David-Development and thank you for your answer.

I found under Phoscon on my HA Rpi that there's no update available for my Raspbee2...

Strange because when I check on http://deconz.dresden-elektronik.de/deconz-firmware/ I see that there's a newer version...

Mine is 0x26610700 and I see 0x26690700... So I would like to update manually the firmware of my Raspbee2.

I'm not using the docker, and Raspbian neither as I'm running HAssios...

I've installed the ssl terminal and I'm able to run some commands there, but it doesn't seems to know the GCFFlasher command :-/

Someone could help me to update my device please? I would like to be up to date to be sure to enable all the functionality for my Tint remote.

Thank you in advance

The remote is not supported by Phoscon, only by the DeCONZ REST API. You need to use the old web UI for assigning lights to the remote's ZigBee groups. Or you can either use an app like Hue Essentials to configure it. Or you can use the remote in Home Assistant. It's up to you, but Phoscon won't work 😉

@djgje

djgje commented Feb 8, 2021

Hello @klada and thank you for your answer!

Juste would like to be sure to understand :

  • Hue essential is an app that replace my Home Assistant, but I can't run it on RPi4, isn't it?
  • When you say "Use the remote in Home Assistant", you mean with ZHA in place of Deconz/Phoscon? If yes, how to setup the remote in ZHA? Because I can pair it but it doesn't create any entities for this remote...And I can just get the offline status when I try to set up some automations.. I see automations.yaml, scenes.yaml, but where is the "entities.yaml" or "devices.yaml" if it exists?
  • Finally, I understood that I would be able to modify my Deconz config through REST Api with an other software to do some queries like POST, UPDATE or GET. Is that the right way to configure Deconz and to assign my remote to groups? Or am I missing something?

thanks again for your help :-)

hey folks,

i finaly paired multiple of this remotes in my deconz setup:

for germans, here is a very nice article for hue, but it works great with deconz:
https://www.smartlights.de/licht/tint/anleitung-aldi-tint-fernbedienung-und-app-gleichzeitig-nutzen/

in english:

  1. make sure you have the latest conbee firmware (26680700)
  2. reset the tint color bulb
  3. pair the tint led with your deconz
  4. reset the remote
  5. pair the remote with your deconz (make sure it was listed under remote!)
  6. reset the tint color bulb again (!) (DON'T REMOVE THEM FROM DECONZ!)
  7. start a new light search in deconz and wait for the success flash
  8. immediately start the pairing process of the tint remote near this tint color bulb
  9. the color bulb should flash again
  10. start again a light search in deconz

the led and remote should still listed in deconz

but now, you can control the led with deconz AND your tint remote.

also the 6 scene buttons on your remote works well.

if the led control from deconz not work, wait some minutes or restart deconz.

PS: i replaced all my IKEA TRADFRI color bulbs and remotes according to these instructions.

Hi all,
I’m just getting started with added zigbee to my already diverse home assistant setup.
I picked up this remote hoping to use it to control things via HA.
Pairing and everything was easy as Pi but I have one issue.
I can’t seem to find anywhere when I press a button what group is selected. I’ve added a dismantle white light to the group but in HA I still only get on off for the group and the button codes.
Is what I am trying not possible?
I just want to get an event to HA with the button code and group. Everything after that is clear to me.

You can't. Unfortunately the currently selected group cannot be determined. So if you want to use the remote with Home Assistant the group button won't be of any use for you. The only thing you can do is create a group binding for each group (group ids have to be consecutive) and control three individual ZigBee groups directly (without involving HA).

@adx-git

Any plans to finally support this remote?

This remote is already supported by the REST plugin. Phoscon support is a different story, so you might want to open an issue there.
