Chrome extension for removing the sign-in modal (the one shown below) that covers the whole page and prevents page scrolling.
Follow the steps here and use the ./extension directory when asked to locate where the extension files are.
Once the extension is installed, click the extension icon on the toolbar whenever the annoying sign-in modal pops up!
