Hi everyone!
Since the start of the year, I've been hard at work getting back into development for my personal project. If you have been monitoring the DEV branch for quite some time, you may have noticed some new features being cooked up. Today, I am going to be announcing those features.
What's new?
There is no ETA on when this will be released. Right now, it is undergoing QA testing. Once that is ready then it will be deployed to Chrome Web Store and Microsoft Store. If you want to test this yourself, you can clone the repository and sideload it to your browser. You must be on the
build-release
branch to test this.Bug Fixes and Other Backend Improvements
I know these features aren't exactly huge to warrant a major update, but there has been a huge significant change under the hood enough to warrant an update. Enhancements and bug fixes such as:
Feedback Form
It has been three years since I started development for this extension. Now, I want to hear from you, the end user for your feedback. You can find the details here: #25
Donations
I've also decided to open up donations for my extension if you really want to support my work. As a reminder, please don't spend beyond your means! To donate, just click on the Sponsor button above
Looking For Translators
I am looking for translators that are willing to assist in translating this extension to Korean and Chinese.

#27 and #28
Discontinuation of Firefox Branch
Three years ago, I created a separate branch for Firefox. The original plan was to support Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox. However, as you can tell, that branch stopped receiving updates and is stuck on version 1.2.0. Once version 3.0 is rolled into public release, I will be discontinuing that branch. It's too difficult for me to support since Firefox is not my primary browser.
Closing
While I don't want to promise anything, I am looking into attempting to get this extension to work on any website and possibly even beyond just saving images. However, this is going to be a technical challenge to make it universally work. For now, if there is a website in particular where you want this extension to work, you are more than welcome to clone this repository and modify it to your needs. The codebase is modular in a way to make it easier to make changes.
Other than that, thank you for using AutoRename! I hope you continue to find this extension useful. As always, if you have bug reports then feel free to submit a new issue. For new features or feature request, feel free to post it in the discussions and categorize it as "Ideas".
Have a nice day! 😊
