Document wsrep_replicate_myisam #256
Comments
See also Issue 254. Should I mention in documentatio that thisis an experimental feature? Is also replicate_aria experimental? |
Yes please. Also, I like to remind you that we have had wsrep_replicate_myisam for sometime, but the documentation was somehow deleted. Can you just check the git history and find it? Propose what was there and let me see if we need to change anything |
I'll check the git log. |
I cannot find it in the log entries. |
Then feel free to rewrite the text based on the fact that said feature
exists in all servers and it is documented too

@byte We don't have a Percona options page yet. What other options than wsrep_replicate_myisam should we include? wsrep_replicate_aria? |
wsrep_replicate_myisam is a feature that is present in Codership Galera Cluster. It is just not documented for some reason. See:
As for Percona options page, that is maybe another issue you can create, but Percona also does a good job of documenting it, and they add pxc_ prefix to options -- https://www.percona.com/doc/percona-xtradb-cluster/LATEST/wsrep-system-index.html |
We have this experimental feature, it is in Percona XtraDB Cluster (PXC) and MariaDB Server documentation, but it is somehow missing from our documentation
Via Seppo:
"It is still an experimental feature, as there is no extensive testing with it, and we don't know about problems which could result if it is widely used. Originally we developed this parameter to help some users who wanted to use DML for MyISAM tables in mysql database, (e.g. to CREATE and DROP users) and get these sessions to replicate.
But what would result if user has real application data in MyISAM tables and runs high intensity application load on these tables, this was never tested and was not the design target with this parameter."
