User Story

As a business owner or a lawyer
I want to be able to add a beneficial owner to the company information
so that the company is in compliance with the legislation.

Business owner may have to identify themselves and then enter their BCSC

Include the ability for a company to add a new beneficial owner to their business information (create a beneficial ownership register)
Add a person or a business as a beneficial owner
Include determining beneficial ownership status
Include options for the entry/collection of beneficial ownership information:

1. Invite with BCSC
2. Invite without BCSC (user entered data)
3. Business entered data - user confirmed
4. Business entered data - no user confirmation

do we need to record the type of control of shares?
do we need to record shares in trust?
do we need to record the type of control of directors?
do we need to record external influence?

who (what users) will use this information and how?
are there user groups who need / want this information?
do these values have an impact on the assessment of Beneficial ownership?
Should they be in the Owner Details section?

what happens if "the person is unable to manage their own financial affairs"?
how does that affect the business's ability to list the person as a beneficial owner?
does it block them from being listed?
do we just record this as a fact and do nothing with the data?
do we need to collect who is managing the person's financial affairs and record them as the beneficial owner?
do we need to display any of this information somewhere?

beneficial ownership of shares has a definition - distinct from significant indivdual
direct and significant influence over a person could be a checkbox
must select one type of control of shares
Allow for combined interest in control of shares and directors - see meaning of "associate" 192.1

trustee is registered owner - look at identifying trustee
beneficiaries of the trust are the beneficial owners
The trustee must be listed as the "registered owner" with the total % of shares and each beneficiary of the trust must be listed as a "beneficial owner" with the total % of shares

Only one reason a person is a beneficial owner is required
