OnChain Governance
To be able to become a true and fully decentralized network, ArchEthic manages its governance completely OnChain making possible to upgrade the network without create forks. This capability make the network resilient and efficient to support any technological improvements and new behaviors.
To achieve this governance, our is based on several technical and functional fundamentals:
-
Decentralized Identity & Proof of Identity: It's the ability of the ecosystem to uniquely identify a person and to integrate that person into a relevant group of actors: foundation, technical council, ethical council, Uniris, miners, users
-
Code «On-Chain» and upgradable: Any node in the network is hosting the code of the Blockchain itself. In that sense, every node can offer the codebase to the world and be open. ArchEthic's network relies on a transaction chain, we can version any updates as Git but also force updates according to a specific governance. Because we are using Erlang/Elixir technology, we have the capability to upgrade nodes without restarting them, avoiding forks and hot-swap/hot-releases of proposals.
-
Incentives: Financing of the work associated with updates, new features and contributions is an essential element. The network has a reserve of one third of the tokens (with progressive distribution constraints) for this purpose.
We can leverage NFT/UCO to reward contributions and make them usable in the network governance itself to incentive people to enhance our protocol.
