Welcome to the knowledge base for Avionics!

Avionics current overall goal is to design a modular and adaptable avionics system for a hybrid rocket that can eventually be modified to be used in a rocket that will reach the edge of space

• Our current attempt at this is Project Mumbai (Microcontrollers Using Modular Boards & Adaptable Interfaces)
• Project Mumbai currently consists of 10 modular boards connected all connected through a CAN BUS

Avionics current organizational goals are the following:

1. Allow students to work on whatever projects they are interested in that will benefit the overall goal of avionics
2. Allow students to gain hands-on experience, giving them the experience they will use in their career

Our core design rules are the following:

• Do the simplest thing that can possibly work
• Use simple, general-purpose tools
• Remember psychology
• Design prototype systems that are responsive to human intervention
