I received a video file today with a file extension .3gpp and tried to convert it to MP4, but it's not an option in the Windows Explorer context menu or File Converter Settings. I realized that some devices may use .3gpp instead of .3gp. I renamed it to .3gp and was able to convert it successfully.
@Tichau sorry to tag you directly. Is this project dead? I noticed a new release hasn't come out since 2017 but a commit was made 9 months ago. Do you guys need help with it?
Hello,
I received a video file today with a file extension
.3gpp
and tried to convert it to MP4, but it's not an option in the Windows Explorer context menu or File Converter Settings. I realized that some devices may use.3gpp
instead of.3gp
. I renamed it to.3gp
and was able to convert it successfully.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3GP_and_3G2
From that article:
According to the article, the standard is actually
.3gpp
now.Looks like both are the same, but some older devices use
.3gp
instead of.3gpp
.Might need to adjust the file extension to make both of those accepted?
