Seasons of Eden is a sandbox role-playing game created by the Stanix Games founder Christopher Taylor, heavily inspired by The Witcher, Game of Thrones, The Legend of Zelda, Civilization Revolution, and others.
The game contains both PvP and PvE content, with a design focus on immersion. This means that the player has the ability to engage in combat when necessary or when desired, they also have the ability to utilize an extensive crafting system, an open game world, and a world-based PvP system with limited loot enabled. By all accounts, the user will not be pushed towards PvP as they will have the ability to find their own way in a feudal society and respond to the actions of other players accordingly.
Yet, leading off of when necessary, there are certain locations where if a player chooses to attack someone, a battle is unavoidable unless certain preconditions are met.
The one feature, which was decided to be implemented from the beginning, is the implementation of a linear questing system, along with a non-linear procedural quest system in the context of the latter quests sometimes being unrelated to the primary storyline, but more to building reputation within the game world itself.
Linear in the sense that there are certain prerequisites which must be met before certain material can be experienced. The player will have to do a chain of quests to unlock more in a specific story arc.
It won't really be limited to level exactly, although having a solid foundation in certain skills related to a specific quest is important.
These quests are able to be attempted without any requirements, besides possibly reputation with a certain region.
The main questline of Seasons of Eden present not one but two concurrent story arcs: a civil war between the princes of late Skars, fighting for control of their fathers Kingdom, Neir, and the return of the Dark Lord, a King of the monsters and the original ruler of the frontier land where our game world stands.
As the player journeys through the world, their character will have the opportunity to become a hero as they fight in the civil war and for the Free Peoples through what is called the "Epic" quest line.
The epic storyline is split into volumes, which in terms of depth are about as long as an entire game. Within each volume you have books and each book consists of several chapters and key turning points.
