this passes the layout verification check in KLayout, wondering if how I saved the file is what is causing the GitHub verification error....
i think the issue was that when github checker or whatever opens this file, it opens it in Basic library. In EBeam library, the labels are in TEXT layer. But when you open it with Basic library, those labels end up in Layer 10/0? Because this gds file does pass the verification if EBeam library is chosen.
labels do show up when I do the ` hotkey, but only if I change the Layout Properties in KLayout first

Thank you for uploading your design!

If you have not already checked it, please run the SiEPIC Functional Verification in KLayout, using the menu SiEPIC-Verification-Functional Layout Check (V).

Please note that we have added a new rule (on May 2, 2024) to SiEPIC-Tools and the EBeam PDK: The grating coupler spacing (pitch) must be at least 60.0 microns. This is to help avoid the probe station from accidentally aligning to an adjacent circuit.

You may continue making updates to your design, or even contributing additonal designs (using a separate file name), until the tape-out deadline.
