I moved the debian specific files into contrib/ubuntu-debian
Also removed qucs-core/debian (obsolete)
Created a build script for creating the signed source archive in contrib/ubuntu-debian
packages for qucs and qucs-doc have been uploaded to
https://launchpad.net/~fransschreuder1/+archive/ubuntu/qucs/+packages

does this make sense? i mean shouldn't we maintain a qucs package within either the debian pkg-electronics or the debian-science project? won't a package propagate from debian down to all derivatives instead of just ubuntu?

Sure, but as long as it isn't included I am maintaining a PPA
If you know your way into debian, that's also cool.

btw, the debian directories where already in the repository, I just moved them into contrib/debian-ubuntu as requested by Guilherme, also updated the debian files to be compatible with qucs-0.0.19 and cmake

iirc, there was a debian package once. it died from license problems. let me see what i can do. (and don't expect miracles ...)

I think it died because Qt3 was banned from debian. That's when I started porting Qucs to Qt4. Since then there has never been a debian package anymore

If we make adms/verilog-a models optional, it makes it easier to submit it to debian, no?
FYI Bastien was preparing an adms package for debian. I contacted him. Now that the license issues are cleared he will try to get it included into debian.

that's a long way. let't start with the modular symbols for the next release.

he will try to get it included into debian.

ok, that's good. For now I uploaded a separate adms package to my ppa, it's not included anymore in the qucs debian package

BTW, I just saw that https://github.com/Qucs/qucs/blob/ubuntu-package/contrib/ubuntu-debian/qucs/debian/copyright seems a little outdated, it says Copyright (C) 2004-2005 Stefan Jahn <stefan@lkcc.org>...

...and yes, we have been a bit sloppy about maintaining copyright notices in general...

lets merge this before 0.0.19. as it seems this cleans up the debian directory, which is good.

Are there plans to add to the repository support Ubuntu 16.10 and qucs-0.0.19-rc2 packages?
