I am new to open source and i want to know about the developer program member tag which many github users profile has

@debck You can find out more about being a github developer program member here: https://developer.github.com/program/.

Essentially, it means that you have built something that you have something in integration in production or development using the GitHub API.

If you pay for private repositories, you can get this tag on your profile. If you are a student, sign up for the Github student developer pack - https://education.github.com/pack - this will enable private repositories for you until you are a student. After this, go to settings and select the option where it asks if you want to be a developer program member.

That means until I develop something using GitHub API I can't get that tag

@debck That's not necessary. Are you a student? If yes, have you signed up for the student developer pack that I linked above?
