i am currently on the most recent w10 version of the os, and decided to download open-shell for the first time after formatting my pc because i wanted some dope customization and i've heard that it could bring me back the windows 7 menu so i thought "why not?", right?
ok, installed, everything is currently ok but then i opened my file explorer and discovered that it also had the classic windows vista explorer bars, that is indeed very useful, but there is one catch, it just WONT match my os color system (everything i can put on dark mode, is currently on dark mode because i have astigmatism, so it is way more comfier to my eyes), and i simply can't find any option to change these bars colors
here is an example:

i don't know if there is actually an option in some place of it and i'm just dumb enough to not finding it, but as far i tried to find it, it just seems that there is none options like this, if there REALLY isn't any, this is really fckd up tho, it would be very nicer if it had some setting to make this match the os dark mode or light mode, this is just weird, ugly and triggers my ocd

would be very pleased if someone can help me out with this, im sorry if im using this github feature incorrectly tho, as i never actually used this to tell the truth lol, i wouldn't consider actually as a bug but here is the only place i could find to report any kind of issues i could potentially with the program, thanks in advance

btw sorry if my english is bad tho, im still trying to learn english (my main language is brazillian portuguese, as i was born here in brazil), if someone is confused about my concern, i'll happily try to explain it one more time :)

I do know that this isn't a 'fix' or an elegant solution, but there seems to be a 'dark' theme that somebody experiencing similar issues made a while ago (#262). Since I did not try this out by myself(as I'm using win11), I can't guarantee that this theme will work-but still, it probably will do no harm at its worst(just undo the theme change if anything weird happen).

The theme is in the issue thread above(see #262 (comment)).
Besides,

  1. Which version of Open Shell are you using? And if it's not the latest(at least the latest stable release) try updating it.
  2. Feel free to leave results/further questions here.

To be clear, #262 is only referring to the Start Menu. This issue is for the Classic Explorer bar, which is a separate element and doesn't use the same skinning system. I believe there may be some 3rd party Windows themes that could fix this issue, but it's not something I know of off-hand.

Ah, didn't think that those two work separately. Then a different method will be needed..

I have the same issue, latest Win 11 Pro

I would pay to get this fixed, its so distracting

Same here, would love to have a dark theme there or just the option to disable the bar.
